Afghans of Love and Support

There is something wonderful that happens between survivors. They become sisters. There is no better expression of love between sisters than the Hugaghan Project. Started by three women, it continues today as an ongoing source of comfort and joy to anyone in need...

Squares are knitted or crocheted across the country and Canada, and sent to Louisiana or Oklahoma for bordering and assembly. They become beautiful afghans. They are then sent as a surprise to a fellow sister who is newly diagnosed, having a rough time with treatment, or battling metastatic disease. The following are some of the responses the afghan group has received:

The ladies who create these beautiful blankets say, “We hope every afghan brings love, comfort, support and a sense of sisterhood (family) to those who are the recipients.”

There is no other program like this. It was started from the heart and has touched the lives of hundreds of women and their families.
